Hey Lovely People!
I'm Naomi, the one woman show behind Studio Aindow. (Well I say one woman show, but I get a lot of help with my website from my wonderful boyfriend, go check him out on Instagram @rclark-3d). At studio Aindow we create beautiful bespoke hand embroidered Jewellery, with hopes to expand into interiors in the future.
So a little bit of history...
I was introduced to hand embroidery at a young age by my nan, with the classic cross stitch. I then further explored embroidery throughout my A-Levels, teaching myself basic hand embroidery techniques and freehand machine embroidery. I became fascinated with the intricate details found within garments and loved the pattern and textures that could be created throughout textiles.
During my gap year I volunteered as a textile technician for a secondary school's textile department I went on to complete a degree in hand embroidery at the prestigious Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace. I graduated with a 2:1 on July 2020. I specialised in hand embroidered body adornments, that looked at inhabiting the body and taking minute patterns and textures from fungi and lichen and scaling them up.
I have also worked as a freelancer for several fashion houses including, Zandra Rhodes and Ralph & Russo. I am trained in technical embroidery techniques including, Gold Work, Tambour Beading, Silk Shading, Jacobean Crewel Work, Raised Work, White Work, Black Work and Canvas Work and enjoy pushing the boundaries of these traditional stitches.
Is to created bespoke hand crafted jewellery, and bridal accessories, that create a beautiful statement. I have a passion for hand embroidery, and want to spread my love of embroidery through Studio Aindow. I have so many ideas and plans for collections and can not wait to continue sharing these with you.
